Decor Trends for 2012!

I am LOVING, LOVING, LOVING the decor trends for 2012! So much so, that I have to share some of them on my BLOG :) Happy trending...!

1. SPLISH SPLASH... I was taking a bath: Freestanding bathtubs are HOT, HOT, HOT right now!! I want one in our Cape home so much! Add it to the list, right? These tubs say old world with a touch of style...and they are no longer offered in just plain white...they have beautiful color selections that make this Design Consultant drooool...such as Nickel, Blush, Gray...even bold blues!

2. TANGERINE Tango: Tangerine is the HOT color for 2012. It is fun, stylish, and cheery! A little goes a long way when adding a pop of tangerine color to your room. It is bright, so it will immediately catch the eye! Make sure you place it where you want people to stop and look... :)

You can also choose to go for a bolder and brighter look by pairing tangerine with other bright and fun colors such as bright yellows, hot pinks, fun turquoise, and beautiful blues....

3. RUFFLES...and more ruffles: Ruffles used to be limited to little girl's bedrooms, but not in 2012! You will see ruffles migrating out into the main living areas of your home this year. Add a touch of ruffle to your living room, bath area and kitchen...LOVE IT!

And another interesting touch to a table top...burlap trimmed in ruffles. Love it!

4. RUSTIC Accent Pieces: An extension of the old world style you see in the stand alone bathtubs...you will see rustic and antiqued accent pieces for your home. Willow House has several on trend pieces...here are a few of my favorites :)

5. STRIPE it up: Stripes are IN! Paint stripes on your walls, add striped area rugs to your living room, or even stripe the ceiling to a room...see picture below...FABULOUS!!! But be careful! They make a STATEMENT! Make sure your room is hearty enough to handle this statement. If not, try striping a closet (I striped three in our Cape home!)...it adds an unexpected but fun surprise to the entryway closet and bedroom closets.
